About
Pegasus lab
Pegasus
lab specialises in mould and chemical analyses of indoor air,
buildings and other indoor environments.
Operations commenced in 1984 and since then the company has
evolved into one of the Nordic region's foremost analysis
laboratories in the field of microbial and chemical organic
analyses of materials and air from buildings as well as dust.
Recent years have seen analytical activities being extended
with a number of analyses, such as PCB, formaldehyde, asbestos,
radon and allergens. With our high standard of professional
expertise, Pegasus lab is able to offer impartial and scientific
analyses of a very high quality.
History
Since the end of the 1980s, when the company moved to its
current premises on Kungsgatan in Uppsala, the operation have
grown and developed. The volume of business and the number
of customers have steadily increased, and we have an extremely
low turnover of staff.
The company has recorded an acceptable level of profitability,
with a couple of exceptions in the form of a failed export
venture at the end of the 1990s and a misjudged product development
at the beginning of this decade. However, all our R&D
activities as well as our investments have been implemented
using internally generated capital.
Pegasus was started up by two private individuals. Professional
owners have come on board since 1999 and now hold the majority
share.
Business
Concept
As regards knowledge and expertise, Pegasus lab aims to be
the leading player in the Nordic region in the field of the
indoor environment, as well as being the first choice for
its customers.
Pegasus lab will
· satisfy its customers' expectations and requirements
as regards service, test report design and time management
· work with technical equipment adapted to suit its
purpose
· carry out analyses in our own laboratories where
economically justifiable
· actively participate in the development of the sector.
Operations
We
spend most of our time indoors, and for this reason the
indoor environment is of decisive importance to our wellbeing.
Indoor air causing poor health is a growing problem, both
for individuals and for society as a whole.
Pegasus lab specialises in mould and chemical analyses of
indoor air and buildings.
By analysing the indoor environment using air, dust and
material samples, we are able to obtain facts that subsequently
form the basis for correct decisions on remedial action.
We also make general assessments, explain analysis reports
and suggest measures in dialogue with the customer.
The consultancy operation can be divided into
· general consultation concerning sampling and evaluation
· advice and project management for major objects
· training
· lectures
It is important for us to keep to the agreed delivery times,
as the analyses often form a significant part of the decision-making
data for remedial action and time scheduling in the project.
It should be possible for everyone to read our analysis
reports, even those without scientific knowledge or training.
The analyses we provide are impartial and scientific and
of an extremely high quality.
Our staff includes research workers, and thanks to their
high level of expertise, we are at the forefront in this
area.
We are also quality assured in accordance with ISO 17025,
with SWEDEC as supervisory body.
Market
and customers
Pegasus lab's customers are currently found in Sweden, Norway,
Finland and Germany. These customers are mainly professionals
in the fields of damage investigation, safety service and
environmental engineering, building consultancy and building
maintenance. In recent years, the focus has been on new
market sectors in order proactively to utilise our combined
experience and expertise to prevent the occurrence of ill
health in all indoor environments where people spend their
time. The working environment plays a central role in our
expanded activities.
On the whole, our customers come back time and again. We
have a large number of customers, but no single dominant
customer. We consider this to be a strength.
The stationary industry is becoming increasingly interesting.
This primarily involves participating in development work
relating to damp and mould resistant constructions, as well
as materials that produce low emissions. Pegasus' combined
resources are a considerable resource in this respect.
Organisation
Our
flat organisation guarantees simple, fast decision-making
paths that benefit our customers. A professional board combined
with a strong external network further reinforces our focus
on customer benefits.
Our operations are divided into a number of units: development,
laboratory activities, administration, marketing, sales
and consultancy.
The analysis work comprises microbiology, chemistry and
externally purchased services.
The
future
Pegasus
lab is on the brink of a major expansion, with plans to
establish itself even more firmly in the Nordic countries
as well as across the rest of Europe. In order to realise
these plans, various opportunities for cooperation and interaction
have been launched. An alternative approach might be the
purchase of all or parts of other businesses.
We have extended our range of products and services. We
are looking for products that have a natural association
with our analysis and service activities and for which it
is possible to obtain agency or sales rights. We are continually
increasing our services, and our training operation has
also been extended.
Development will play a central role in our operations,
building on demand and wishes. Ahead of each financial year,
resources will be allocated for development projects. Research
and development can also be conducted in collaboration with
other players.
The
Pegasus spirit - Fx5
The
Greek hero Bellerophon conquered the flame-throwing monster
Chimaira with the help of the winged horse Pegasus. The
word chimaera (figment of the imagination, delusion) derives
from this monster. Our task is to carry forward the legacy
of Pegasus and to be a tool in the fight against delusions.
